Carly Melin is currently in her first term as District 5B’s Representative in the Minnesota State House of Representatives. Carly Melin was born on August 13, 1985. Growing up in Chishlom, Minnesota, she attended Chisholm High School. After high school, she went on to Bemidji State University where she majored in Political Science. After college, she went on to Hamline Law.[1] As she graduated law school, she was asked to run for District 5B’s Representative.[2] Carly took Tony Sertich’s spot in the House of Representatives.[3] Tony Sertich is now the commissioner of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board.[4] Carly Melin is a Democrat.[5] Melin has no intentions of changing the Clean Air Act. Recently, they have been working on passing the Freedom To Breathe Act. Melin is very supportive of this Act even though the Senator, David Tomassoni, is highly against it.[6]
